NATIONAL CONSUMER DAY 2026, DEWAN SETIA PAHLAWAN, KEMENTERIAN EKONOMI,PERDAGANGAN DAN INDUSTRI

The inaugural National Consumer Day Forum 2026 brought together more than 150 representatives from regulators, businesses and the community to discuss product safety, consumer protection and avenues for redress.

In her opening remarks, the Guest of Honour, Dr Hajah May Fa’ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin, Permanent Secretary (Economy and Trade), underscored the importance of consumer protection in helping build a fair and trusted marketplace where consumers feel confident and responsible businesses can prosper. A well-functioning domestic market also supports investment, innovation and growth, in line with the aspirations of Brunei Vision 2035.

The forum brought together different perspectives across consumer protection, product safety, sector regulation and dispute resolution, reinforcing that creating a safer marketplace is a shared responsibility.
