Deputy Permanent Secretary (Trade)

DAYANGKU HAJAH MAZLIZAH BINTI PENGIRAN HAJI MAHALEE

Dk Hjh Mazlizah binti Pg Haji Mahalee was appointed as Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on 1 July 2026.

She began her career in the Brunei Civil Service as a Special Duties Officer Grade II at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources on 2 September 1995. On 1 August 2005, she was transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. She was subsequently promoted to Special Duties Officer Grade I on 22 November 2007, before being appointed as Assistant Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation on 12 May 2008.

On 20 April 2009, she was promoted to Deputy Director of the International Trade Department, and on 29 June 2015, she was further promoted to Director of the Department of Trade Development, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

During her career, she served overseas as Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, from 8 November 1999 to 7 August 2004. On 10 June 2020, she was appointed as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations in Geneva.

Dk Hjh Mazlizah obtained a Bachelor of Arts with Second Class Honours (Second Division) in International Relations from the University of Staffordshire on 30 June 1995.

In recognition of her dedicated service and contributions to the nation, Dayangku Hajah Mazlizah was awarded the Excellent Service Medal (Pingat Indah Kerja Baik – P.I.K.B.) on 22 January 2007, the Order of Setia Negara Brunei (P.S.B.) on 29 July 2010, and the Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei, Third Class (S.M.B.) in 2017.
